KS Orka Renewables Pty Ltd (KS Orka), through subsidiary PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal Energy (PT SMGP), has introduced the beginning of business operations of the 50-MW Sorik Marapi Unit 4 geothermal energy plant in North Sumatra, Indonesia.
With the acceptance of the Unit Rated Capability Check for Sorik Marapi Unit 4, it formally commenced industrial operation on December 16, 2023 and is now prepared to provide electrical energy to the North Sumatra grid owned by PT PLN (Persero).
The beginning of business operations of Unit 4 signifies the profitable additional growth of the Sorik Marapi geothermal discipline. The 50-MW Unit 3 energy plant got here on-line in late 2022, complementing the 45-MW Unit 2 and 45-MW Unit 1.
In mid-2023, KS Orka additionally introduced COD of the 3-MW Sokoria Unit 2 geothermal energy plant in East Nusa Tenggara.
