Technische Universität Berlin researchers say a hydrogen community connecting areas with low-cost renewable potential to demand facilities, electrofuel manufacturing, and cavern storage websites in Europe might scale back system prices by as much as €26 billion ($29.2 billion) a 12 months. “The presence of a brand new hydrogen community can scale back system prices by as much as 3.4%,” wrote the researchers. They are saying that between 64% and 69% of the hydrogen community might reuse fuel pipelines and that increasing each the hydrogen community and the facility grid would assist meet net-zero emission targets, chopping prices by 9.9%, or €72 billion per 12 months.
