A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a Knowledge Centre at KenGen’s Inexperienced Power Park that will likely be powered by geothermal from Olkaria in Naivasha, Kenya.
KenGen and the Konza Technopolis Improvement Authority (KoTDA) have damaged floor on the development of a Tier IV Knowledge Centre as a part of the 342-ha Inexperienced Power Park in Olkaria, Naivasha in Kenya. The distinct attribute of this industrial park is that it goals to harness the geothermal assets in Olkaria to supply a secure and renewable power supply for the industries within the park.
Plans for an industrial park in Olkaria have been explored by KenGen since again in 2019, beginning with an RFP for a technical evaluation of the challenge and one other feasibility research in 2021. Earlier this yr, KenGen began accepting provides from companies or sub-developers to lease land and arrange services on the proposed Inexperienced Power Park.
The challenge will likely be constructed in 4 phases from 2025 to 2045. The park is envisioned to host industrial, industrial, and leisure services.
