Norway-based PGS, a supplier of seismic and reservoir companies, together with information acquisition, imaging and interpretation, entered the offshore wind market earlier this 12 months. The corporate was awarded its first website characterization acquisition contract by companions bp and EnBW for the continued growth of the Morgan and Mona offshore wind farms within the Irish Sea.
The vessel Sanco Swift mobilized for the 3D wind farm website characterization in April and is anticipated to finish acquisition close to the tip of July. The subsurface information is acquired with PGS’ ultra-high-resolution 3D (UHR3D) P-cable system which gives extra detailed subsurface information for shallow targets, in comparison with conventional seismic acquisition techniques.
“Our UHR3D system builds on our geophysical experience and vessel operation expertise,” says Berit Osnes, government vp new power, PGS. “I’m more and more assured that our geophysical method to grasp the shallow subsurface layers has a confirmed market match.”
